Shareef El Attar focuses on corporate restructurings, Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors and advising businesses during times of financial distress.
Mr. El Attar has more than 8 years’ experience advising distressed businesses on complex restructuring and turnaround situations both through informal and formal procedures. Specific areas of Mr. El Attar’s expertise include lender advisory, cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, contingency planning and execution, creditor negotiations and sale of distressed assets.
Prior to joining Sherwood, Mr. El Attar was a senior associate within the workout department of Australia’s largest commercial bank, working with businesses that were in default of their commercial credit facilities.
Mr. El Attar has advised and worked with businesses from a broad spectrum of industries including hospitality, manufacturing, mining, retail, healthcare and construction.
Mr. El Attar graduated from the University of South Australia with double degrees in Commerce and Commercial Law. He is a member of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand and is currently undertaking further studies to become a Certified Turnaround Professional with the Turnaround Management Association.
