H. Michael Hogan III has over 25 years specializing in stabilizing and turning around underperforming businesses or facilitating exits. Mr. Hogan acts as both an advisor and a manager. As an advisor, he works with boards, management, lenders, and creditors guiding them through workout negotiations and developing comprehensive turnaround strategies which include organizational change and divestitures. As an manager, he has led companies through revitalizations and workouts in a variety of ways, including development and implementation of business plans, strategic restructuring, development of corporate metrics and management tracking systems, implementation of cost reduction programs, financing agreement negotiations, supplier negotiations, and identification and execution of asset sales. Mr. Hogan has held senior executive positions in both public and private companies in technology, biotech, telecommunications, manufacturing, distribution, construction and retail.
Among his assignments, Mr. Hogan has overseen day-to-day operations for several technology businesses facing significant operational and working capital issues, consulted on strategic options to companies facing challenges and negotiated over 60 transactions in the software, hardware, telecommunications, biotech, cleantech, semiconductor, social media, adtech, ecommerce, gaming, retail, winery, service, distribution and manufacturing industries. His past executive roles include operating an optical components company to assess the business and develop strategic options, court appointed receiver for a wine producer where he orchestrated the full payment to the secured lender while continuing operations, CFO of a publicly traded telecommunications software and equipment supplier to stabilize the business and analyze and develop strategic alternatives, senior executive a publicly traded software company responsible for stabilizing the business and orchestrating a sale, and has held various other interim C level positions.
Mr. Hogan has earned his Certified Turnaround Professional and Certified Insolvency Reorganization Accountant certificates. He is a member of the America Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and a past managing editor of Turnaround Management Association’s Journal of Corporate Renewal. Mr. Hogan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Colgate University.
