Mr. Markidan has over 15 years of experience advising corporate leaders, institutional investors, and lenders, on critical business challenges faced by both performing and distressed organizations.
He has an extensive background in M&A, strategy formulation, in and out of bankruptcy turnarounds, asset sales, and expense reduction initiatives. Mr. Markidan’s work spans a wide range of industries and companies, ranging from startups to industry-leading global corporations.
Prior to Sherwood Partners, Mr. Markidan was a Director at a nationally recognized business consulting firm, where he led buy and sell side transactions, lender negotiations, and board advisory engagements. Previously to that, he worked for several highly regarded turnaround and restructuring firms. During that time, among numerous engagements, Mr. Markidan led two complex §363 (bankruptcy) sales for a project which was cited in the company’s selection as an Outstanding Turnaround Firm by Turnarounds and Workouts Magazine. Likewise, he was responsible for identifying overhead cost reduction opportunities in support of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR)’s, $29 Billion leveraged buyout of First Data, one of the largest LBOs in history.
Prior to that, Mr. Markidan worked in the Financial Services practice of a Big-4 consultancy, where he advised Fortune 500 companies in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America.
Mr. Markidan began his career as an Associate at Milestone Equity Partners, an early stage private equity firm focused on emerging technology companies.
Mr. Markidan is a graduate of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. Parallel to his studies, he was involved in the Hasbara (Public Relations) Department at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C.
