Mr. Johnson has twenty years of experience in financial advisory and business restructuring roles. His assignments range from pre-revenue startups to traditional brick-and-mortar firms across the United States, and venture capital funds, private equity firms and commercial banks. His advisory and negotiation skills enable better communication between borrower and lender to extend runway in many situations. Utilizing a variety of legal and financial tools including Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors, foreclosures, receiverships and the US bankruptcy code, Mr. Johnson specializes in maximizing recovery for lenders, creditors and investors. During his tenure at Sherwood Mr. Johnson has advised investors, lenders, and/or management of over 150 companies.
Prior to joining Sherwood in 2007, Mr. Johnson was a Director of Asset Management at a $13 billion (assets) publicly-traded REIT where he managed the workout, exchange, and/or disposition of over $500 million of distressed commercial real estate.
Mr. Johnson spent four years with the international turnaround management firm Alvarez & Marsal, Inc. in Los Angeles and New York, providing interim management, forensic accounting and valuation services for multiple clients, including a national health care organization.
Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics from Franklin & Marshall College. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2004.
