Kumar Singla has over fourteen years of experience in various financial advisory roles including corporate restructurings, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions (both healthy and distressed; tangible assets and intellectual property), cash management and creditor negotiations, along with roles in corporate development, financial forecasting and management consulting.
Prior to joining Sherwood Partners, Mr. Singla provided restructuring advisory (both in-court and out-of-court) and investment banking services (including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital raising, and leveraged finance) to middle-market companies on behalf of Duff & Phelps, LLC. Prior to his role at Duff & Phelps, Mr. Singla advised debtors and creditors on various engagements on behalf of a restructuring boutique formed by former partners of Zolfo Cooper, LLC. Key industries of focus for Mr. Singla have been technology, media, consumer and retail, healthcare and life sciences, business services, financial institutions, real estate, and sports franchises.
Mr. Singla also worked for three years in the transaction advisory group of public accounting firm CohnReznick LLP, with a focus on valuation advisory and operational and financial due diligence. Mr. Singla has also worked in corporate development, merger and acquisitions, and financial forecasting roles for large corporations, including a position reporting to the Chairman and CEO of ICF International, a publicly-held government defense contractor based in Fairfax, Virginia. Mr. Singla began his career as a management and strategy consultant at Sapient Corporation.
Mr. Singla holds an M.B.A. from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated cum laude from Georgetown University. Mr. Singla is active in the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
