Martin Pichinson is a principal and founding partner of Sherwood Partners, LLC. Major lending institutions, law firms and venture capitalist firms rely on Sherwood Partners to make the tough decisions that improve and sustain companies. Experienced with a history of restructuring technology companies, Pichinson provides companies at all stages guidance based on many years of senior consulting and advisory experience.

At Sherwood Partners, Pichinson takes a hands-on approach working with management teams to develop new ways to create and maintain profitability and gain maximum market share. Grasping the immediate needs of his clients and focusing on long-term goals has made him one of the most prominent business advisors in the business world.

His management style and understanding of corporate structure and culture enables him to develop a sense of accomplishment within the organization that contributes to growth and profitability long after his mission is completed. Pichinson has positioned Sherwood as one of the most sought after advisory firms in assisting venture backed companies reengineer, refocus, repositioning and restructure. He is also one of the nation's foremost experts in Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (ABCs) and is one of the leading restructuring and crisis managers. His marketing savvy and experience is also called upon to assist his clients maximize their marketing and branding efforts.

Pichinson brings more than 26 years of experience as a trusted business advisor to Sherwood Partners and has a long history of managing and working with management teams at large and growing companies. Before co-founding Sherwood Partners in 1992, he had a highly successful consulting practice. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of Famous Amos Cookies. Before working with Famous Amos Cookies, Pichinson was chief operating officer of a major shoe corporation, where he managed the company’s real estate holdings, corporate reengineering and a 280-store retail chain. In 1989, he was chief operating officer of a major garment company where he developed its retail outlet operation and increased sales 800% within 18 months.

Pichinson’s work has been published in many publications including the Asian Venture Capital Journal, Business Credit, Institutional Investor's Journal, Journal of Private Equity, Total Telecom and Venture Capital Journal. He has been featured and quoted in The Economist, BusinessWeek, The New York Times, Fortune, Fortune Small Business, Associated Press, Bloomberg News, Newsweek Japan, Asahi Shimbun, Nikkei, The Washington Post, as well as numerous domestic and foreign publications. Pichinson has also served as both a presenter and moderator at conferences for influential industry organizations such as ABI, IBF, INSEAD, INSOL, LAVA and others.

Pichinson holds a degree in marketing from Columbia College, Chicago, Illinois.
